MINNETONKA 2, EDINA 0: The Skippers and Hornets played a full seven innings on Thursday without either team pushing a run across the plate. But back-to-back solo home runs by Kelly McKenzie and Catie Braun in the top of the eighth gave the Skippers the Lake Conference victory. For Braun, a senior outfielder, it was her third homer of the week -- she hit two on Tuesday in a loss to Hopkins -- and sixth of the season.

CENTENNIAL 8, ANDOVER 0: Senior Stephanie Kappes threw a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts, leading the Cougars past the Huskies in the Northwest Suburban. Senior third baseman Sophie Love went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs.

COON RAPIDS 2, ANOKA 1: With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, sophomore Rachel Sarettea tripled and junior Karleigh Wilkins followed with a single as the Cardinals topped the Tornadoes in the Northwest Suburban. Anoka tied it at one in the seventh, scoring on an error.

PARK CENTER 11, BLAINE 0: The Class 2A, No. 4 Pirates belted three home runs, including a grand slam off the bat of junior Jordan Petersen, in their victory over the Bengals in Northwest Suburban play. It was Petersen’s sixth homer and second grand slam of the season.

ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 4, BUFFALO 3: With two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, junior third baseman Kelsey Blank lined a single up the middle, scoring senior first baseman Rachel Hackenmueller from second with the winning run as the Knights outlasted the Bison in a Mississippi 8 matchup.  Blank was 2-for-4 on the day with three RBI.
