Home run gives Edina the victory over Minnetonka

EDINA 2, MINNETONKA 0: Freshman Jessica Bentley hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, giving the Hornets a victory over the Skippers in Lake action on Wednesday.

BURNSVILLE 11, PRIOR LAKE 0: Senior Kelsey Anderson hit two home runs, had five RBI and also pitched a two-hit shutout as the Class 3A, No. 1 Blaze blanked the Lakers in the South Suburban. Anderson struck out 12.

EAST RIDGE 10, WHITE BEAR LAKE 1: Senior captain Sam Gregory went 3-for-4, including a three-run home run, and had six RBI as Raptors beat the Bears in the Suburban East.  She also scored three runs.

HILL-MURRAY 11, SIMLEY 3: Senior Lonnica Johnson had a career day going 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and seven RBI for the Pioneers in their Classic Suburban win over the Spartans.

HOPKINS 10, WAYZATA 8: The Class 3A, No. 6 Royals won a slugfest with the Trojans in a Lake game that featured eight home runs.  Senior Hayley Nybo went 3-for-4 with two homers and three RBI for Hopkins.

MOUNDS VIEW 4, ROSEVILLE 0: Junior Megan Danielson tossed a one-hitter while striking out 12, leading the Mustangs past the Raiders in the Suburban East.

PARK CENTER 3, ARMSTRONG 0: Junior Nicole Schaub pitched five shutout innings as the Class 2A, No. 4 Pirates won its eighth consecutive game, beating the Falcons in the Northwest Suburban.

RICHFIELD 5, MAHTOMEDI 4: Senior Danielle Pues doubled home the winning run in the top of the 11th inning, giving the Spartans a win over the Zephyrs in the Classic Suburban.

ST. FRANCIS 12, FRIDLEY 0: Junior Debbie Evans pitched a five-inning perfect game while striking out eight in the Saints’ victory over the Tigers in North Suburban play.
