Fans' choice for top performer

Kailey Ahlstrom, Prior Lake: It would be hard to find a pitcher off to a better start than Ahlstrom. The senior collected victories over teams from traditionally strong programs, including a shutdown performance against Eagan on April 16. She allowed just one earned run on four hits with 14 strikeouts in a complete game.

Top Performer candidates

Jade Tomashek, Maple GroveTomashek was one of several Crimson hitters who piled up big numbers last week, as she posted multiple hits in all three of her team’s wins. She was particularly impressive in an 11-0 win at Robbinsdale Armstrong on April 19, when she went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI.

Elly Novak, Tri-City United: Novak did everything she could to help the Titans secure a win over West Central Area on April 21. The junior went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI. She also allowed one run on two hits while striking out 11 in the pitcher's circle.

Alivia Mortenson, Norman County East/Ulen Hitterdal: Postponements haven’t slowed down Mortenson, a sophomore infielder who tallied multiple hits in both of her team’s first two games, including in a rout of Pine to Prairie Conference rival Ada-Borup/Norman County West on April 17. She went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI in the team’s 11-1 win.

Kierra Krause, Lake of the Woods: The senior outfielder raced her way to five stolen bases in two games. Her offensive reliability helped the Bears defeat Cass Lake-Bena 14-9 on April 20, as she went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs scored.
