Thursday afternoon was the Katie Thun show on Field 4 at Caswell Park.

The Hermantown sophomore pitched a one-hitter in the Class 2A quarterfinals, striking out 10 in a 10-0 Hawks victory over St. Paul Johnson.

She also tied a state tournament record with three doubles, part of a 3-for-4 day at the plate with a pair of RBI.

Meagan Willis drove in three for the Hawks, who finished with 15 hits off of the Governors' Katie Donohue.

Hermantown scored seven runs in the first two innings before ending it with three in the bottom of the sixth.
