Pipestone got only one hit, but relied on the arm of its starting pitcher to advance into the Class 2A state semifinals with a 3-2 win over Fergus Falls.

The Arrows scored a run in the first on a wild pitch, added another in the second on an illegal pitch and tacked on an unearned run in the fourth to go up 3-0. Fergus Falls answered with runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings. But Pipestone sophomore Tasia Woelber stopped the bleeding with a big strikeout to end the game. It was her 13th of the afternoon.
