And the winner is...MN Softball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Softball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Calla Koshiol, Rockford. The sophomore accounted for half of the Rockets’ runs in a 10-0 rout of New London-Spicer on May 11. Koshiol was 4-for-4 at the plate, hitting three doubles and her second home run of the season for Rockford (14-2, 12-1). She finished the game with five RBIs and two runs scored.

Top performer candidates

Jaidann Gale, Coon Rapids. The junior recorded a season-high six RBIs on May 11, leading the Cardinals in a 9-2 victory against Totino-Grace. Gale finished the game with a double and a home run and scored two runs for Coon Rapids (7-7, 4-6).

Macy Gregor, Bloomington Jefferson. The freshman catcher led the Jaguars in their doubleheader against Robbinsdale Cooper on May 12, finishing 5-for-5 at the plate through the two games. She recorded a double and a home run in each game, and tallied seven total RBIs and four runs scored as the Jaguars (14-3, 11-1) swept the two games, 15-0 and 12-0.

Taylor Hess, Maple Lake. The junior pitcher has been a steady presence in the circle for the Irish this year and earned three wins last week to bring her season total to 14. Hess pitched six innings in a 10-0 victory against Royalton on May 10 and allowed four hits while striking out 11 batters. At the plate, she went 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. On May 13, the Irish (17-2, 13-0) rolled in a doubleheader against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa, winning the two games by a combined score of 27-0. Hess pitched nine innings between the two games and allowed a combined three hits and one walk with 21 strikeouts. On offense, she tallied three hits and four RBIs.

Brenna Koeppel, St. Charles. The sophomore pitcher outlasted the Chatfield offense on May 13, holding on through eight innings to earn a 1-0 Saints' victory — her second consecutive shutout. Koeppel gave up two hits and no walks, recorded 11 strikeouts as she threw 78 pitches for St. Charles (14-2, 5-1).
