One-run game decided in the final inning

In the only close game of the first quarterfinal session at Caswell Park on Thursday morning, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg held off Hawley 1-0 in Class 1A.

Erin Haglund scored the game's lone run in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI hit from Courtney Olson.

Hawley put two runners on base in the bottom of the seventh on KMS starter Samantha Dunn. But Haglund came in to get the final two outs to notch a save along with her run scored.

Jessy Noreen struck out seven in a losing effort.
